How to read a zone

A road name encodes the layout and the special content of the region. The portal codex is read as rings; the name is read the same way.

T498T6273T829

Tier sets the resources and mobs you meet, from T4 on blue and yellow entries to T8, exclusive to deep roads and 20-player portals.

The first letter of the name is the road layout family. Two zones with the same letter share the same crossings, only rotated or filled differently.

Qua-Qii-Sec-Set-100

Names starting with one of these prefixes are hideout maps (Avalonian Rests): they link the two continents and are the only road zones where a hideout can be placed.

Frequently asked questions

How many zones do the Roads of Avalon have?
The game's own zone definitions list 400 zones: 98 of tier 4, 273 of tier 6 and 29 of tier 8. 100 of them are hideout maps and 300 are regular roads.
What chests, resource nodes and dungeons does each zone hold?
Every zone lists only what the game actually places in it, with its counts: chests by colour, nodes per material and dungeon entrances. The numbers come from the game's own zone definitions, not from estimates.
What is a hideout map?
Names starting with one of these prefixes are hideout maps (Avalonian Rests): they link the two continents and are the only road zones where a hideout can be placed.
How do you read a zone's name?
The first letter of the name is the road layout family. Two zones with the same letter share the same crossings, only rotated or filled differently.
What does a zone's tier mean?
Tier sets the resources and mobs you meet, from T4 on blue and yellow entries to T8, exclusive to deep roads and 20-player portals.
